Burna Boy’s Ye Earns New Certification in the US

Released in 2018, Burna Boy’s Ye has just achieved a new feat in the US. 

The record has just been certified gold in the US after selling half a million units. This means Ye now has certifications in Canada (gold) France (gold), United Kingdom (silver) and US (gold).

Ye was one of the records off Burna Boy’s Outside album released in January 2018. It was later released as a single in August 2018. It went on to win song of the year award at the 2019 Headies and Soundcity MVP Awards. It also peaked 31 on Billboard’s US R&B/Hip-hop airplay chart. 

Recall in June 2018, Ye was discovered by numerous music listeners in the US when a search for Kanye West’s album Ye returned Burna Boy’s Ye as the top result because Kanye West’s album Ye was not yet available on Apple Music at the time.

The fortunate turn of events for Burna Boy gave him more audience and sky rocketed his album sales earning him more fans in the US and several other parts of the world. Since then, his career has been moving in an upward trajectory. He just recently won a Grammy award for the best Global Music album.
