Renowned singer and entrepreneur cum politician, Banky W have joined the list of Nigerian celebrities who have voiced their displeasure about the current state of security in the country. 

In recent weeks there have been several reports of kidnapping, different forms of violence, killings etc and as the day comes it seems like the situation is deteriorating.

Speaking via his Twitter page, a very emotional Banky W likened the situation to being in an abusive relationship. 

“So much bad news in Nigeria every day... we've become numb to it. If it's not murder and kidnapping, it's unrest and people unfit for office calling the shots. It's like we are in an abusive relationship with the country we love. It's exhausting. It's draining. It's depressing,” the singer wrote via his Twitter.

Banky W is one celebrity who uses his platform to speak up against ill events happening in the country. He kick started his political career a few years ago, running for the Lagos' Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in Nigeria's House of Representatives under the umbrella of the Modern Democratic Party, an election he lost to Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressive Congress. It is expected that he’ll try again in the next elections come 2023.
