Celebrated Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has come out to slam those who have been comparing his YouTube views with Bongo stars like Harmonize and Wasafi artists.

Taking to Instagram to address the current online debate on why bongo stars are dominating YouTube records, Khaligraph posted a screenshot of his latest jam ‘Luku’ celebrating the quarter million views that the jam had received in one day.

In the same post, he addressed the people who have been comparing his YouTube views with those of Bongo stars, reminding them that he does Hip-hop which is quite different from bongo fleva.

“Luku doing a quarter mill, Msikuje apa Kuniambia Sijui Akina Harmonize na Wasafi Wanapatanga izi Numbers In 2hrs Hours, This is Hip Hop Bana, you Have To respect The OG, Best Rapper in Africa..,” he posted on his Instagram page.

His fans also weighed in on the current debate, with some blaming Kenyans for supporting Bongo artists instead of local artists.

“The problem with Kenyans is that hawapendi kusupport their own wanaendea kina wasafi...hio ndio inatulet down,” a fan noted under the post.

Khaligraph joins other artists like Willy Paul who have also weighed on the current online discussion as to why Kenyan artists do not generate the same amount of views as Bongo stars who are clocking millions of views on their music videos in a day.
