No One Can Stop me from Doing Music, Pallaso Says Amid Concert Ban in Uganda

Ugandan musician Pallaso has weighed in on the ban on music shows in Uganda, noting that he is happy fans are streaming and listening to his music, even though he cannot perform them on stage.

Pallaso is currently one of top trending artists in Uganda thanks to his new releases; ‘What Is Money’ and 'Nalonda Ne Mala'. With these trending hits, many feel that Pallaso would have made millions in shows.

Speaking during a recent interview, Pallaso noted that he is happy fans are consuming his music online.

"No one told me to start doing music, just like no one can stop me. Personally, having my music just being appreciated is payment enough. That is enough to make me happy," Pallaso said.

Addressing the government, Pallaso urged the relevant agencies to come up with necessary measures and allow artistes back on stage. He noted that the music industry may die if the government does not act soon.

"The music industry is part of the country. We should get avenues on how to survive… They should act fast before we lose the whole industry," he said.

Meanwhile, Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni recently announced that concerts and bars will remain closed until a vaccine is administered to all Ugandans.
