Mr. Drew has been announced the 3Music Awards Breakthrough Act of the Year for 2021 during the 4th annual 3Music Awards that was held on Saturday, March 2021.
Having been sponsored by Boom play, one of the largest music streaming and download services in Africa, Mr Drew bet off competition from other leading rising acts. The Breakthrough Act of the Year is the most exciting and dominant Breakthrough Act/Group of the year, whose recordings became extremely popular within the year under review.
The award was presented to Mr. Drew during the last weekend’s event by the officials of Boom play namely; Twumasi Donkor and Andrew Omenyo.
Boomplay will give Mr. Drew a valuable promotional package from Boomplay that consists of marketing opportunities in all Boomplay operating countries; Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania and also investment in media push for the winner through billboards and a press run.
According to the report, what influenced the winning of Mr. Drew was his impressive analytics on Boom play that stands at 1.7 million total streams. This may have played part in convincing the academy, public and the board during the voting processes.
The main objective of this particular category sponsorship for Boomplay, is to affirm its commitment to the growth and development of the Ghanaian music.
The officials of Boomplay say that the Breakthrough Act of the Year is special to them as it focuses on the growth of young, innovative and talented artistes who are seeking change and also interest in taking Ghana music to another level.
