‘Rwanda Gospel Stars Competition’ is the next big project for Rwanda in 2021.
The competition will offer a great platform on strengthening the gospel industry and bringing in new talent.
‘Rwanda Gospel Stars Competition’ is courtesy of two events companies Matts Rwanda Services in partnership with Lotus Bleu Ltd.
The competition will be held between May and August. Recording gospel artistes are expected to participate in the contest.
Matts Rwanda CEO Samuel Nyandwi that the theme of the contest will be “Get out and praise the Lord”.
The contest hopes to preach the gospel further through music and bring up a generation that believes in the word of God.
“This the first gospel music contest of its kind which we believe will change the lives of gospel musicians. Gospel music is home to so many talents but which lack support and empowerment and hence do good music but with lower production standards and quality. That keeps gospel music lagging behind and some are left with no choice but to switch to secular music which looks more dominant,” Nyandwi told the New Times.
‘Rwanda Gospel Stars Competition’ will also give a platform to talented minds who have been locked out from recording due to lack of a platform or other challenges associated with it.
The contest will have 30 contestants and 10 finalists who will battle for the ultimate Rwf10, 000, 000 cash prizes.
