Tamy Moyo, Nutty O Win Big in 2020 Star FM Awards

The 2020 Star FM Awards Zimbabwe finally went down over the weekend. It was an elated virtual event where big names in the industry managed to scoop prestigious awards even after a daunting 2020 that was characterized by lockdowns.

The highlight of the event was Tamy Moyo, Nutty O and gospel group All for Christ taking home three awards each.

Tamy Moyo together with Jah Prayzah scooped the Best Collaboration award for their song ‘Kuterera’ and she also scooped an award for Best RnB song ‘Energy’ where she featured Bryan as well as the Best Female Artiste.

Nutty O emerged victorious in Best Zimdancehall song ‘Safe’, Best Male Artiste and Song of the year (Kokai) which he collaborated with Poptain.

South African-based Zimbabwean singer Nox Nguni won in the category of Best Song by Zimbabweans in the Diaspora (My Melody).

Freeman scooped an award for the Album of the Year (Freeman and Friends).

  • Best Newcomer: Everton Mlalazi – Uyingwele
  • Best Sungura Artist: Albert Gatsi
  • Best House/Amapiano Song: Lloyd Soul – Crowd
  • Best Hip Hop Song: Holy 10 – Ghetto Redu
  • Best African Pop Song: Fusion 5 – Mistake
  • Best Gospel Song: All For Christ – Mwari Wakanaka
  • Best Group: All For Christ
  • Best Producer: Nigel Nyangombe
