Hip-life grandpapa and Veteran artiste, Reggie Rockstone, has highlighted some notable changes that have occurred in the current High-life music as compared to the Highlife music in the older days.

Speaking in an interview on Y 107.9 FM’s weekend rush with Kokonsa Kester, Reggie Rockstone noted that, although there has been a bit of change, it is still the same. “The fundamentals and foundation of Hip-life have always been Hip-hop and it has always been used that way”.

He went on to say; “Right now technology has made it easier for everyone to get access to music but in our time, someone in Suhum, Koforidua or Wenchi had no access to social media to stream my music. This made it quite difficult but the passion and appreciation people had for the music been on a different level”.

While still on it, Reggie pointed out that the biggest difference he has noted is that nowadays people are taking short cuts by just writing any content and, release it which is not how things were back in the day.

According to the legend, the quality of music will always speak for itself. “Within all of this, we still find real talents. A couple of real talents have taken it up from the time we started with the likes of Sarkodie, and all this just confirms that Hip-life is really the soundtrack of this country”, he supposed.
