Celebrated Ugandan rapper The Mith is currently flying high with his ‘The Ugandan’ album which dropped in September last year.

The album is a family affair as it features his close relatives including his grandmother who sings in one of the songs.

According to the Mith, he featured his grandmother as she is talented vocally, but growing old, meaning this was the best opportunity for them to work together.

"I felt it was the time to involve her because she's getting older and I'm trying to enjoy the moment she is always singing that interlude and I thought it was interesting. I sent it to my producer and got three different variations which I later put on the beat,” he said.

The album cover shows his grandmother carrying him as a baby, which he says is a symbol representing where he comes from.

"The stories they told just helped me to create this album. My dad helped with the writing because I always called him up during my sessions and he helped a lot in translating these lyrics to Luganda although he doesn't know the exact song he helped with," The Mith revealed during an interview with Sanyu FM.
