GNL Zamba Joins Race for UMA Presidency

Veteran Ugandan rapper G.N.L Zamba has joined the race to be the next Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) President.

Explaining why he is contesting for the seat, Zamba noted that he took this step because he feels there is need for strong leadership in the Ugandan music industry.

"I'm trying to see how our generation can compare with the super talented artists that have existed before. I have the capability and I know how to handle people. The people who know me can testify that I'm a people person and I provide solutions,” he said.

He further noted that he’ll step down from the race if someone he feels is capable of the job decides to contest against him.

"If someone comes with the same skills and capability as mine, I will stand down but right now there is no one like that," the rapper said.

According to Zamba, his bid for UMA presidency is not influenced by the monetary rewards. He notes that he is main focusis to provide knowledge and ways to solve problems faced by Ugandan musicians.

G.N.L Zamba now joins Cindy Sanyu and Sophie Nantongo who have so far expressed their interests in the same seat.
