Kagwe Mungai gets bigger with Bad Girls
4 November 2013
A music graduate from the University of Southampton, producer, singer, songwriter, composer, instrumentalist, poetry enthusiast and rapper. Combine all that and you have a very competent and professional artist by the name Kagwe Mungai.
With his unique Afro-Funky style of music, Kagwe came through with his hit song ‘Dutch’ featuring fenaminal woman Fena Gitu and also did a cover to Ice Prince’s hit ‘Oleku’.
Good girls go to heaven; bad girls go everywhere and maybe to Kagwe if you listen to his new song ‘Bad Girls’ off his latest album ‘Songs About S.H.E’.
‘Bad Girls’ is the first single and the song has good musical quality. The intro captures your imagination instantly and the melody remains strong and tuneful all through .
“The song is not really about bad girls but my love for Africa; from Kirinyaga to Bungoma all the way to Jo’burg and Lagos celebrating this great continent,” he told Mdundo on phone.
Kagwe has an attractive vocal tone, and puts real feeling into the lyrics as he takes you on a journey through Kenya and all over Africa (The Motherland) which explains the album title.
He might be one of the best new artists currently in the industry but we are yet to see that on his upcoming projects.
