Renowned Kenyan musician Otile Brown is one of the most loved artists in the country due to his unique Swahili RnB style of music. Many credit him for rebirthing the love for the Swahili RnB in the Kenyan market. Apart from his timeless hit songs like ‘Chaguo la Moyo’, Otile dropped his album last year dubbed ‘Just In Love’.
Otile stands as an artist that commands respect and adoration from his fans and fellow artists locally and internationally. So what does he have that makes him stand out as the best artist in Kenya?

The first aspect is that he is a talented young man. His mastery of Swahili and amazing vocals have endeared him to many. Last year, in a sit-down interview, Otile talked about how he views his talent while he explained his take on award shows. He said, “My talent can’t be defined by a piece of metal, kitu kilicho chongwa ama kitu kama hiyo.”
Another factor that makes him the best artist in Kenya is his hard work. A good example is that we are barely starting the year but Otile has already released two hit songs featuring top artists in East Africa. . I am talking about his collaboration with AliKiba in a jam dubbed ‘In Love’ and ‘Kolo’ by Nadia. Despite the year being young and fresh, Otile is out and about blessing his fans with good music to vibe to.

Otile is also arguably one of the most consistent artists in Kenya. With a market where an artist is as good as their last hit, Otile ensures that he maintains consistency in dropping hit after hit. In June last year, he dropped the visuals for ‘Hit and Run’ featuring Khaligraph, followed by ‘Dusuma’ featuring Meddy, and finalized the month with ‘Watoto na Pombe’ featuring Mejja.
In July, he dropped ‘Leilah’ featuring Kidum and in August he dropped ‘ Ndagukunda’ featuring Prezzo. In October he dropped ‘Remedy’ featuring Lexsil and followed that jam with ‘Regina’ featuring Juma Jux and ‘Jamila’ featuring Reekado Banks for November. To start the year 2021, he recently dropped ‘In Love’ featuring Alikiba.

His consistency is not only admirable but mind-blowing and perfectly explains why he is the best artist in Kenya.
Most Kenyan artists are unfortunately stuck in one genre. If it is Gengetone, they get enslaved by the genre. Well, that factor makes Otile stand out as an artist because he is able to merge and diversify his music. Otile is able to fit different sounds to his music like his decision to do ‘Watoto na Pombe’ which was not an RnB song as we are used to from him.
