Nandy Explains Why She Has no Plans to Launch a Record Label

Celebrated Tanzanian singer Nandy has addressed the possibility of launching a record label. Currently, no female Tanzanian musician owns a major record label, with Nandy operating as an independent.

According to Nandy, she can launch a record label, but current circumstances make it hard for her.

While speaking during a recent interview, Nandy pointed out that managing artists is not a walk in the park, especially for women.

“Tutegemee record label spoon naendelea kujifua….kumanage wasanii si kitu kizuri...kuna maisha baada ya muziki unajua sisi kama wanawake tuna majukumu mengi,” she said.

Currently, Nandy is among the biggest bongo musician with a reputation of improving her craft on a daily basis.

Nandy added that female musicians should not be condemned for not holding the top position considering the societal responsibilities.

She made the remarks after being asked why women have never taken the top spot dominated by Diamond, Alikiba, and Harmonize.

Meanwhile, Nandy recently announced that she is planning three significant projects in the coming months. The projects include; two EPs and one album.

According to Nandy, one of the EPs will have gospel songs only.
