It is always the dream of every married couple to have children. Just like every newlywed, celebrated gospel artist Kambua had the same dream. Unfortunately for Kambua, she had to endure seven years of her marriage without a child.

During an interview in 2018, Kambua said she was angered by comments about her childless status from social media trolls. Talking about the comments in detail she said, “The reason why it angers me is that people don’t even know what your journey is like, they don’t know what you are struggling with, they don’t know if you even want to have children, they have no idea.”

Little did she know that God had planned to bless her in 2019 and satisfy the desire of her heart.

In August 2019, Kambua delivered a bouncing baby boy called Nathaniel Muhoro. Describing her journey with her first pregnancy, Kambua attributed her strength during that period to her strong support system and God. “I have a very strong support system, that is my mum and my friends. I have a community around me that is very protective. My faith in God has kept me going through very difficult things.”

She also gave an insight into motherhood, noting that the journey is fantastic. “It’s challenging, but I think it’s a good type of challenging. I think it has helped me discover things about myself I didn’t know.”

In 2020 October, Kambua took to social media to announce that she was expecting her second child. She captioned a stunning pregnancy bump photo with the caption, “God of Sarah... God of Hannah...God of KAMBUA! Just when I thought you had done too much...! YOU did it again!” She commemorated the event by releasing ‘Neema’ in October 2020.

Neema is all about the sufficiency of God in her life highlighting the criticism she had faced in the first seven years of her marriage.

Kambua is a walking inspiration to many mothers, soon to be mothers and those who have almost given up on being called a ‘mum’ one day.

Kambua now stands strongly with women who are childless on her social media platforms. She takes time to educate her followers on how to deal with women and what not to say to women who are pregnant and the couples who are yet to get a child.

Through Kambua’s story, we get inspired to keep pushing past words, criticism, and judgment.

Children are a gift from God and just like he blessed Sarah, he will bless all of us when the right time comes.
