‘20’ Album is All About Passion, not Money – Lady JayDee

Legendary Tanzanian singer Lady Jay Dee has explained why she does not intend to earn more money from her upcoming album. The singer is expected to release her eighth studio album in February.

The project dubbed ‘20’ seeks to celebrate her two decades in the music industry.

Speaking during a recent interview, Jay Dee stated that releasing an album seeks to fulfill the fact that she is a musician. According to the singer, releasing an album is all about passion and not money.

She noted that selling music does not earn her much money as she is dependent on shows and endorsements.

“Album sana sana si kwa ajili ya pesa...ni kwa sababu mimi ni msanii natakiwa kuwa na album, pesa tunapata kwa matamasha. Hata mauzo ya online si makubwa vile,” said Jay Dee.

The upcoming album will contain 20 songs and the singer is expected to feature musicians like Mr. Blue.

On her longevity in the music industry, Jaydee stated that she has been forced to adapt to the changing times to remain afloat.

Notably, Jay Dee’s peers who joined the music industry at the same time have fallen out with some attempting to make a comeback.
