Rich Mavoko Addresses His Relationship with Diamond after Exiting WCB

Tanzanian singer Rich Mavoko has come out to clarify the state of his relationship with WCB boss Diamond Platnumz after he quit the label a few years ago.

According to Mavoko, when he left the label with the intervention of BASATA, Diamond attempted to mend things but he declined.

Mavoko noted that he does not hold any grudges against Diamond or the artists signed under him.

“Mimi niko sawa na wote wa pale...tuliwachana vizuri na bosi kwa sababu tuliachana kipindi tulikuwa tunaongea...aliongea kila kitu vile anavyo ona inafaa vitu viwe lakini nilikuwa nimeamua,” said Mavoko.

The ‘Wacha Ikuwe’ story singer added that while at WCB, he felt betrayed by the management over failure to keep their side of the agreement.

He noted that he fulfilled his side of the contract but the management began restricting him, something that forced him to exit and seek other alternatives.

He added that following the exit, WCB fans descended on him with a bid to ensure he quits music.

However, Mavoko clarified that he was ready for the backlash after the contract termination. The singer went ahead to take a musical hiatus only to make a comeback in August last year.
