Former President Jakaya Kikwete Explains His Support for Alikiba, Diamond and Harmonize

Former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete has shared his support for bongo music. Speaking during a recent interview, Kikwete was tasked with choosing between Diamond, Alikiba and Harmonize.
Over the recent years, the musicians have emerged to be fierce rivals for the king of bongo music crown. However, according to Kikwete, he cannot choose between the three musicians because all of them are talented.

According to Kikwete, he likes some of their music and also does not like some songs.

"I love music sana...ni kitu kinaliwaza...kwa kila mwanamuziki kuna nyimbo utakayo ipenda...kwa nini nilazimishwe kumpenda yeyote...kuna nyimbo za Alikiba napenda kuna zingine sizipendi...kuna nyimbo za Diamond nazipenda na kuna zingine sizipendi...pia kuna nyimbo za Harmonize nazipenda na zengine sipendi,” said Kikwete.
The former Head of State added that when it comes to music, he has an open mind and nobody can influence him.

Kikwete’s sentiments come at a time temperatures appear to be cooling down in the bongo music scene with Harmonize extending a truce to Diamond.
Last year, with Harmonize quitting WCB, fans and the media instigated a rivalry of the three musicians. However, Harmonize maintained that he has no issue with Diamond.
