Tanzanian hip hop star Nay wa Mitego has dropped a new track dubbed ‘Go Baba’.

‘Go Baba’ revolves around societal misgivings in what looks like a new trend for Nay wa Mitego who has become more of an activist.

“Mishe ni mama ndio imenifanya niwe juu mpaka leo ,usiponiskia redioni kwenye banda la video,Boda boda bajaji kitaani mimi ndio raisi wao, Na leo nawalaza nje si nna funguo zao raisi kamanda,kipenzi cha wana mademu hawaaminiki siumeona wamesaliti chama au mnasemaje masala….” the song’s lyrics read in part.

The mostly repetitive chorus song is Nay wa Mitego’s first project of 2021.

In 2020, Nay had a song “Mugu Yuko wapi” that was deemed controversial with a section of Tanzanians asking him to apologize for blasphemy.

Nay wa Mitego is one of the many hip hop artists in Tanzania that has worked had to keep up with the fast changing music scene.

So far, the song ‘Go Baba’ is slowly picking pace with over 21,000 views on YouTube hours after it premiered.

At the moment, the song only has an audio with the video expected later. The song was produced by Mr. Touch under Free Nation records.
