The much-awaited 2020 Blankets and Wine Online Edition went down this weekend. For twelve years, Blankets and Wine event has been treating audiences in Kenya and Uganda to unforgettable music experiences featuring the best upcoming as well as established artists from Africa and its diaspora.

This year, the event got more creative due to the pandemic and hosted their first-ever film hybrid edition which included featured performances on a virtual stage.

Blankets and Wine presented ‘Nairobi’ which is a hybrid film-concert featuring music performance from Bensoul, Nviiri the Storyteller, and Muthoni Drummer Queen, along with film content starring a host of Kenyan actors and personalities.

The virtual event was directed by Mugambi Nthiga with Goodtimes Africa as the executive producer.

The cast in ‘Nairobi’ included: Muthoni the Drummer Queen, Nviiri The Storyteller, Bensoul, Xavier Ywaya, Kasiva Mutua, Okello Max, and Xenia Manasseh.

The event which has already been uploaded on their YouTube Channel is divided into four chapters; Chapters one and two which were uploaded to the official Blankets and Wine YouTube channel three days ago are titled ‘Welcome to Nairobi’ and ‘Avocado cartel’ respectively. Whereas, Chapter three and the final full show are dubbed ‘Power’ and ‘Nairobi full show 2020’.

 The virtual event has been a complete success, with all four parts having thousands of views on YouTube in a short amount of time.
