‘The Next Popstar’ Grand Finale Slated For December 26

Rwanda’s riveting ‘The Next Popstar’ competition has entered the last leg of the grueling finals with six contestants battling for the RWF50 million cash prize.

While focus shifts to the six contestants, they are off to a seven-day bootcamp at Hotel Villa Portofino, Nyarutarama to have their final days before the curtain comes down and the winner is picked.

Ish Kevin, Jasmine Kibatega, Yannick Gashiramanga, Jackson Cyiza, Honorine Irakoze Hirwa and Gisa Cy’Inganzo are the finalist of ‘The Next Popstar’.

The six; two female and four male contestants were among 20 contestants who were selected by the public via a majority vote.

For the seven days that they will be at the boot camp, they will embark on energized love performance rehearsals and get polishing up tips for their vocals by a group of talented professionals in the music industry.

From there, they will have a day to enjoy Christmas which will be followed by the big day; December 26 when they each stage a performance and a winner is announced.

While winner walks away with RWF50 million, the first runners-up will get SM1 Music distribution deal.

‘The Next Pop Star’ intends to discover and nurture musical talents and give these artistes a platform in the international stage with focus on how their music is distributed within the various international music platforms.

The contest was mooted by More Event in collaboration with Network Showbiz; a US-owned company known for its capacity in distributing music around the world.
