Omah Lay, Tems Arrested after Performing in Uganda amid Covid-19 Ban

Renowned Nigerian artists Omah Lay and tems have reportedly been arrested after performing in Uganda amid an existing ban on musical shows due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Deputy Police Spokesperson, Kampala Metropolitan Luke Owoyesigyire noted that Omah Lay and Tems had been arrested following the event.

"Nigerian artist Omah lay has been arrested by Katwe police, the manager of the venue one Dungu Ivan and the Events manager Prim Kasana are also in custody...Temilade Openiyi Aka Ms Tems (Artist) also been arrested with her manager Muyiwa  Awomiyi," he tweeted.

The arrest came after local artists took to social media to protest what they termed as neglect by the government.
