Renowned Nigerian artists Omah Lay and Tems have announced that they’ll be performing at the prestigious Big Brunch' (Afrobeats Edition) in Kampala.

The event is scheduled to happen on 12th December 2020.

While many Ugandan are gearing up for the event, veteran Ugandan musician Bebe Cool has vowed to do everything in his power to ensure the show does not materialize.

He argues that it is unfair for Ugandan artistes not to be allowed to perform in the public, yet international musicians are allowed to come and perform.

"I beg the organiser to immediately cancel this act with due respect. I’m a Ugandan artist and I will stand in for me and my fellow artists who have been stopped from performing in Uganda for all these months due to covid-19 and we respected the rules and regulations.

"What hurts me is many other sectors have at least been compensated but not Ugandan artists. Even if we haven't been compensated or given any financial help by the government in form of support, at least let us not be looked down at like that. Many of my fellow Ugandan artists are financially struggling and their careers are at stake and then this, NO. Get this money and pay Ugandan artists only for now if even covid-19 is not in consideration for this event. Let me hope this is a dream am in coz if it's real, I will make every effort to fail this event," Bebe Cool said in a post that he later deleted.
