Burundi’s Natacha in Kenya for Collabo with Femi One

Celebrated Burundi Afro-pop artist Natacha has revealed that she is working on a collaboration with Femi One.

Speaking during a recent interview, Natacha revealed that she had liked the jam ‘Utawezana’ by Femi One and had flown in to work on a project with her, adding that she thought it was important for women to support one another like she was doing with Femi.

Natacha has previously worked with top African artist Fally Ipupa from DRC Congo in a jam dubbed ‘Duba’.

Describing how she met him for the first time, she said that she had sponsored Fally's hotel in Burundi, where she took an opportunity to ask for a collaboration.

"Fally amekuja, kwa sababu si tuna hotel, naweza kusema ni number one Burundi, tukapeana sponsorship kwa mtu ambaye alimleta. Basi akafika hotel yetu akaona, huyu ndo boss wa hapa, Natacha, akashtuka ule mshtuko vile, tukaanza kusalimiana na mi ni mwimbaji. Wakati namuomba Collabo, aliniambia, basi karibu, ukija Kinshasa, tutafanya bila tatizo. Mungu akasaidia, nikaenda Kinshasa tukamalizia kila kitu," she narrated.

She also added that since this was her first visit to Kenya, she had come to survey the music market and looked forward to collaborating with more artists in Kenya.

Femi One’s jam ‘Utawezana’ has been among the songs that have gone viral in Kenya and propelled her to the international audience.

The jam which featured Mejja was such a hit on social media sites like TikTok and currently has over ten million views on YouTube.
