Cannibal Chosen 1 Narrates How he Got his Stage from Poxy Presha

Renowned Kenyan artist Ralph Sanda Masai aka Cannibal has opened up on how he was given his stage name by the late legendary musician Poxy Presha.

In an interview, Cannibal noted that his talent was spotted and nurtured by Poxy, who taught him to write and even gave him his stage name.

Taking his time to describe the role of Poxy in his life, Cannibal detailed their first meeting.

"Nkianza huu mziki, kulikuwa na jamaa mmoja hivi, alikuwa amekuja mahali si tuko, yaani alikuja Mombasa, anaitwa Poxie Presha. Yeye ndo alitushika sisi mkono, alicheki talent katika hizi mabattle marap. Sa akanispot, akasema huyu kijana nimnoma. Akanishika mkono akanifundisha vizuri sasa kuandika na nini, hapo ndio hii hina Cannibal ikacome about," he explained.

He also said that Poxy decided to give him that name because he was a stubborn child who used to bite peoples’ ears off adding that he also bit other artists musically.

"Yeye pia ndio alinispot tena vile nilikuwa nikifanya, nilikuwa na utukutu ile ya watoto, masikio ndio nilikuwa napita nayo. So akasema aah, huyu msee anakula wasee, hiyo Jina inaweza mfaa, akaniambia kutokea leo wewe ni Cannibal, ikakuwa ndio hivo, ndio ikastick," he added.

Meanwhile, Cannibal recently released a new jam dubbed ‘Joy’. The song which carried the message of joy in the house of God was well received and currently has over six thousand views on YouTube.
