Early this year, Ugandan rapper Fik Fameica and producer Artin Pro were sued by a section of women who claimed that Fameica’s ‘My Property’ hit song released in 2018 is demeaning to the female gender.

The case was set for hearing on Tuesday December 1, 2020 at 10:30am at the High Court by Magistrate Musa Ssekana.

Fik Fameica appeared in court alongside his lawyers to answer to the charges against him.

Speaking to the journalists after the court session, Fik Fameica said it was never his intention to release a song that is demeaning to women.

"My intention was never to destroy women's peace rather to praise them. For a song to become a hit, you have to look for unique ways to express what you feel. Women are the most prized jewels we have on earth so I think this lady would have consulted me first on what I meant because I believe she misunderstood me," Fik Fameica told Spark TV.

Fik Fameica says this case is tarnishing his name because his biggest fan base is female and they actually love this particular song.

On his part, Artin Pro noted that he has immense faith that they’ll win the case.
