Konde Worldwide boss Harmonize has shared his opinion on the lack of major awards in his career.

This year, Harmonize has maintained that he is the biggest musician in Tanzania but critics opine that the success is not reflected in the awards section.

Speaking during a recent interview, Harmonize noted that singing in Swahili has been the major undoing when it comes to getting nominations.

The singer claimed that people who carry out the nominations don't understand the language.

Harmonize maintained that he has over 20 hit songs this year but it is not reflected on the awards.

As a solution, Harmonize called for the establishment of a music award scheme that is Tanzanian based.

According to Harmonize, having a local music scheme will help because people carrying out the nomination understands the market better.

This comes after Harmonize was trounced by Diamond Platnumz as the best musician in East Africa during the recent AFRIMMA awards held in the Texas United States.

“Mtazamo wangu uko tofauti kidogo. I would like Tanzanian Music Awards not outside Africa...Nigeria hawapigi nyimbo za Tanzania, watajuaje Harmonize ni msanii mkali Tanzania...atakaye jaji atajua ngoma kali ni Ushamba,” said Harmonize.

Harmonize affirmed that awards are important in a musician’s career.
