A good man’s memory lives on forever even after his death, the wise men say. This has been epitomized by the late Zambian Hip hop musician King Daev who died in September following a grisly road accident.

Since his demise, colleagues in the industry have paid tribute in different ways, some doing songs to honour his memories. But in a twist of events, rapper Nez Long decided to get a tattoo of Daev on his arm as a reminder of the XYZ lead vocalist who had just started his path to success.

“Keep resting in Power king,” Nez posted on his social media handles.

What followed was a string of praise and tributes pouring in for Daev and other artistes such as Slapdee vowing to follow suit and have Daev’s tattoo as a reminder of the friend and great artiste that Zambia lost.

Bobby East, XYZ’s CEO and a close friend to Daev hailed Nez telling him that was loyal of him to remember and honour Daev in such a loyal way.

In the last month, Tommy D did a tribute song ‘Talila Nafuti’ in honour of Daev while Slapdee’s recent album ‘Mother Tongue’ has featured Daev’s great works.

Daev was only 25 years old when the accident happened. In 2020, his songs; Never Been Easy, and Kamba Ka love did exemplary well with over a million YouTube views.
