Meddy’s Hit Song ‘Slowly’ Defies Time to Remain All-time Fan Favourite

Meddy, a talented and arguably most successful Rwandan RnB artiste has a lot to take pride in when it comes to his music career.
Being in the game for close to a decade, he has come a long way to emerge as a highly-sought after RnB singer who artists from other East African countries go to for collaborations.
While most of his music hits the commercially viable line of a million views, he has broken record with ‘Slowly’ an all-time favourite.

Released in 2017, ‘Slowly’ has managed to hit 39 million views on YouTube, which is no mean feat.
The song is still widely played in and beyond Rwanda. In Kenya, for example, it is a popular beat in radio stations while it is a favourite tune for Maisha Magic music lovers.

This means that it is a big song for the entire East Africa. The beats are in sync with his RnB name, laid back with powerful acoustics which are complemented by his mellow voice.

‘Slowly’ is a love song talking about the power and belief of love, a touchy subject that is universal. From the comment section on YouTube, his fans still listen to the song three years later, and confess that it is still charming as it was back in 2017.
