Fast-rising Ugandan rapper Feffe Bussi has opened up on his financial status at a time when the Ugandan government has banned concerts and stage performances.

Speaking during an interview with NBS TV, the self-styled smallest rapper revealed that he is currently not in a good place because it has been long since he last earned a penny.

"We are in very bad shape and we are crying out to government to set us free so that we get back to work. I have spent over ten months without earning a penny yet I have been spending,” he said.

Citing the re-opening of churches, Feffe Bussi noted that musicians are ready to obey and follow guidelines that will be put in place to curb the spread of the virus.

"We have people we are taking care of in candidate classes. Everyone has mouths they feed, plus the landlord has never exempted me from paying rent because of I'm an artist... We shall social distance, put on masks and follow every guideline. They shouldn't worry about us being rebellious," he added.

Meanwhile, several Ugandan artists have been pleading with the government to allow them back on stage.

Earlier this week, Ugandan musician Pallaso argued that political rallies which have been allowed in the country pose more danger to locals as compared to bars and music concerts.
