Sheebah Dismisses Claims of Competing with Ugandan Female Artists

Over the past decade, Ugandan musician Sheebah Karungi has consistently grown artistically and is currently one of the best musicians in the country.

Her management has done a good job in promoting her career plus her fans commonly referred to as Sheebaholics have stood with her through thick and thin.

In addition to the massive support, Sheebah also works hard and produces high quality music that it relatable among her audience.

While many take competition as a factor to drive them to their goals, Sheebah says she only draws inspiration from herself.

"I don't compete with anybody, that's why I'm the way I am. The reason why people fall off is they decide to compete with people they have no idea about. What I do I compete with myself. I keep comparing the different years and what levels I was at, that is what I base on to better myself. Instead of proving a point to people," she said.

Addressing young artists inspiring to be like her, Sheebah encouraged them to concentrate on themselves and avoid the negativity.

"If you believe in yourself, go chase the dream. No one should stop you and God loves and got you. No human being should ever get in your head," Sheebah said.
