On Wednesday November 12, 2020 Ugandan musician Sheebah Karungi celebrated her 31st birthday party at her Red Terrace bar and lounge  in Bunga.

She invited her fans, friends and family to celebrate her special day where she also officially launched her company offices.

While Sheebah and her friends were still enjoying the party, police stormed the venue at around 9:30pm, putting the celebrations to an end since they had exceeded the curfew hours announced by the government in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Addressing the media, Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the police got a tip from neighbors and decided to send some officers location to confirm the claim.

"Our officers found party animals and when they saw our men, they took off and we never arrested anyone. We only had a few men," he said adding that Sheebah Karungi was not arrested, but was to be summoned at the station to be taken through the Covid-19 guidelines.

"The Ministry of Health banned partying because it is likely to spread the virus. We are to invite her here and explain to her what the dangers of Covid are and getting a number of people in one place. Maybe she was not aware about all these things and how dangerous Covid is. Many people are stuck in Mulago without oxygen, maybe she will learn from this," Onyango said.
