Harmonize Accused of Stealing Idea behind His New 'Ushamba' Single

Tanzanian singer Harmonize has once again come under scrutiny over copyright allegation for his latest single 'Ushamba.'

Two upcoming musicians identified as Lizu Dady and Phamo S have come out to claim that Harmonize lifted their idea from the song 'Upimbi.'.

Through an Instagram post, Lizu Dady noted that as an upcoming musician, he has no capability to take on Harmonize.

He has since requested help in ensuring Harmonize pays for the music idea.

“Naomba msaada huwenda nikapata haki yangu Harmonize amechukua wimbo wangu, Badala ya ‘Upimbi’ yeye akaita ‘Ushamba’, naomba Mimi ni msanii mdogo sana sina sauti hata kama nikiongea nitaonekana muongo, lakini Nina ushahidi wa nyimbo yangu ni ya kwanza kabla yake,” posted Lizu Dady.

Listening to the two songs, the flow resembles; however, the two songs' content is different.

“Harmonize umecopy na kupest broo, baada ya upimbi ukaweka ushamba, haki ya mtu haipotei kirahisi hii nchi yenye amani,” Lizu Dady added.

However, Lizu Dady notes that there are some copied lyrics that Harmonize did not even tweak.

Harmonize Releases New Video ‘Ushamba’

Throughout his career, Harmonize has been hit with several copyright claims over various songs.

Notably, his 'Afro East' album was once pulled down from streaming platforms due to copyright claims. By press time, Harmonize had not responded to the allegations.
