Early this month, a number of top Ugandan musicians teamed on a song titled 'Muzeei Tute'; pleading with the government to allow them back on stage and re-open bars.
The project was put together by Omulangira Suna who brought together several artists including; Ziza Bafana, Felista, Karole Kasita, Mesach, Haruna Mubiru, Abdu Mulasi, Amooti, VJ Junior, Mary Bata and Grace Khan among others.
"We were made by music and we need to have the same voice on this. There is need for us to be allowed back on stage because different sectors fought for their own freedom," Omulangira said during an interview with Spark TV.
Many expected Ykee Benda; the president of the Ugandan musicians association to feature on the song but he did not.

Speaking during a recent interview, Omulangira Suna claimed that Ykee Benda turned down the offer to feature in the song.
"The first audio was the instrumental, the voice clips and the voice note pleading with him but he just blue ticked me. He is the first person I sent the demo on October 24th. I don't care what his reasons are but it is sad for the president not to grace this. I believe he is not only president to big artists,” Omulangira Suna said while showing WhatsApp messages he sent to Ykee Benda.

Explaining his side of the story, Ykee Benda noted that he doesn't have any issues with OS, but believes he would have handled it better by not going to the media.
As to why he did not feature on the song, Ykee Benda noted that he does not do political songs.

He further noted that at the beginning of the chat, Omulangira just sent the audio without addressing him first. He feels that was disrespectful.
"If he takes me like his president, he would have sat me down because he can't be sure that I saw them," Ykee Benda told Spark TV.
