In Zimbabwe, Winky D has a reputation for doing social and political commentary kind of songs which is one of the reasons why he has remained relevant more than a decade later.
He intimates that the song writing and creativity process for him is triggered by a lot of things.

“In terms of the creative process, I don’t think there is a template on how things go like. May at first it can be like an idea or may be it can be inspired by a beat or I can be inspired by a situation,” he explains.
Winky is a 10-time multi-award winning artiste. He is the pioneer of zimdancehall which he still does to date.
