Veteran Ugandan artiste Bebe Cool is not a happy man after his new political song dubbed 'Mwongede Akalulu' was not picked as the official campaign song by the ruling NRM party.

Bebe Cool in October dropped 'Mwongede Akalulu' a song praising President Yoweri Museveni. However, NRM sidelined the song and settled on band singer Ronald Mayinja's 'Akalulu'.

Addressing the media, a furious Bebe Cool noted that he has always put the party before his career and family, but got disappointed in the end.

"I have sacrificed a lot for the party year after year. Time came when I couldn't even sing in Kampala yet music is most profitable in the city," he said.

Ronald Mayinja recently decamped from Bobi Wine's National Unity Platform (NUP) and was welcomed to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and later released a campaign song for President Museveni

"You just can't front Mayinja's song before mine. Even the opposition party sees all these things and trolls us. We have to respect the senior cadres.

"We have done a lot to change these people from opposition and we love them joining us but you should not front them before us who have done a lot for the party. I can't attract these people to the party and then you put them before me because you have your own agenda,” he divulged.
