Ugandan star Bebe Cool has joined hundreds of artists and music stakeholder who’ve been pleading with the government to open bars and allow musicians hold shows across the country.
In a bid to stop the spread of corona virus, President Yoweri Museveni directed that all bars and entertainment joints be closed. A couple of months later, the order is yet to be eased despite other measures being revised.
In a recent post on his social media handles, Bebe Cool pleaded with the government to extend the curfew to midnight and open entertainment joints for artists to perform and earn revenue.

According to Bebe Cool, judging by the experience so far, Covid may not disappear anytime soon, adding that government should explore ways of having entertainment coexist with the virus.
"My prayer is that president M7 looks into the arts/entertainment industry soon by considering to allow bars to operate with standard SOP’S, a limited number of people, and curfew at midnight.
"This would allow minimum income for these youths. This industry employs millions of youths as waiters, waitresses, DJs, bouncers, cleaners, bar owners, event organizers, Musicians, etc who have really struggled to survive in these COVID times. It’s time for music and entertainment to coexist with covid. We can still beat covid-19," he posted.
