At 23, Nel Ngabo is doing wonders in Rwanda’s RnB industry. In July, he released his highly-packed and entertaining album dubbed ‘Ingabo’ which was a dedication to all soldiers who liberated Rwanda from French colonial rule.

Ngabo, was born of a soldier father who was part of this struggle.

‘Ingabo’ was his first album since he ventured into music in early 2019. While launching the album virtually in July, just when the COVID-19 pandemic had grounded the world into a standstill, he said that it was the best way to commemorate Rwanda’s Liberation Day.

“I know we are facing bad days because of this pandemic but, I couldn’t wait to show all liberators especially soldiers how much I appreciate their sacrifice to give us a country like Rwanda,” Ngabo said as quoted by KT press.

He said he felt the need to honour and appreciate his father and other soldiers who lost their lives trying to secure the freedom that he and other Rwandans are currently enjoying.

“I know being a soldier who serves for the interests of people at any given time is not a joke. I thank my father for saving time to bring me in the world and for being such a loving daddy,” he said.

‘Ingabo’ has 13 tracks, all solo hits from his three-year career in music. Some of the popular tracks in the album include Yamotema, Gake, Boss among others.

Ngabo recorded his first song in 2017 immediately after completing high school which is when he was signed by Kina Music. Since then, he has released more than 15 songs and admits that the journey to the top in the industry is not easy but he is passionate that he will get there with hard work and passion.
