Jah Master was born 25 years ago in Zimbabwe where he attended school and grew up in. He comes from a humble background.

How did Jah Master begin his music career?

He started his music career at the age of 15 and faced a lot of his challenges on his way to the top. Jah Master did music for six straight years but did not break even, he kept spending on music production with no tangible return. He later travelled to South Africa where he did menial jobs for survival but would still feel that he has some talent.

In early 2019, Jah Master travelled back to his mother land and started working towards reviving his music career. In 2019, he released seven singles which gave him a pull in the game but it was still not enough. In 2020, he did “Hello Mwari” which was his greatest hit. It has more than 2.5 million views on YouTube. He credits DJ Levels for the glory behind the dope hit. When he wrote the song, he got in touch with Levels who helped him produce the song at time when his finances were not doing so well. But as a prayer that ‘Hello Mwari’ is, it opened doors for him in ways he says he cannot explain.

In August 2020, his song "Hello Mwari" featured on NashTV's Nash Nation Riddim 3 competition where artists were competing for US $3,000. ‘Hello Mwari’ is a Shona name for “Hello God”; perhaps the gospel attribute in it has made it so likeable among people.
