2020 came with a lot of challenges for the music industry with shows and public gatherings being canceled because of corona virus pandemic.
Despite the setback, artists have still managed to bless us with some phenomenal albums.
In different interviews, a number of artists noted that staying at home gave them more time to meditate and write nice music.
This article rounds up 5 of the best Ugandan albums so far in 2020. Please note that the albums are in no particular order:
Samali - Sheebah Karungi
In August, Sheebah released her fifth studio album dubbed ‘Samali.’ ‘Samali’is an 18-track album named after her. It has songs like Oli Eyo, Love Ya Kitundu, Ekyama, Empiki, Tevunya, Ninda, Tobilaalasa, Enyanda, Nkumissinga, Nakyuka, Nabaleka, Empeta, Nalwawo, Kale Maama, Kambyogere, Kwolwo, Exercise and Nakubuuka.
Lo Fit - Azawi
In February Azawi premiered her very first 5-track EP titled ‘LO FIT’. It has songs like; Quinamino, Lo Fit, Crazy Lover, Repeat It, and Mbinyumirwa. All these jams were written by Azawi and produced by Kuseim of Fresh Records.
Sukaali - Irene Ntale
‘Sukali' (translated from Luganda to mean Sugar) dropped in July and has six songs including Sukaali, Onkubira Ko, Every Way, Turn Up, Allergy and Mpima. This is her first project after signing for Universal Music Nigeria.

Mpulira - Iryn Namubiru
‘Mpulira' dropped in August and has a total of 12 songs including Mpulia, Call Me, Gunteeko, Byokola, Byendi Byoli, Tonkyawa, Yimbula, Naye Nawe, Kachumbali (Acoustic version), Kulusegere the remix and Omu Oti. It also features famous saxophonist Joseph Sax and renowned guitarist Myko Ouma.
Strength in Numbers - Navio
Strength in Numbers was released acouple of months ago via a virtual concert due to the pandemic. It is a 15-track album with both local and international stars like Daddy Andre, Vannessa Mdee, Seyi Shey, Burna Boy, Ice Prince, Mike Yangstar, Khaligraph Jones, among others.
