Winky D Explains Why Fans Shouldn’t Expect an International Collabo from Him

Revered zimdancehall artiste Winky D has finally broken the silence on why he is yet to release a collabo with an international artiste.
Winky D is among Zimbabwe’s most famed artistes whose music is loved in and beyond Zimbabwe.
For a man of his musical standing, getting an international collabo is not difficult. However, Winky D views international collabos as a “hype” which costs a lot of money and he is not ready to part with a lot of his hard-earned cash to meet the expectations of an international artiste.
“It is something that we have explored. We sat down as a team and said are we going to be doing things along business lines or it’s now for the hype,” he told a local media outlet recently.

He said that he would rather purchase a residential stand adding that “We are in a situation whereby most of the people when they are approached for collaborations all they see in their eyes is money. They are not really worried about the product that you are going to be making.”
According to Winky D, his stand in collaboration with an international artiste is not out of frugalness but reality which is “earning something that can sustain myself on an international level as they call it and I should be able to make finances comfortably here in Zimbabwe, I should not be straining myself.”
