Eddy Kenzo Takes Credit for Increased Nomination of Ugandans in 2020 AEAUSA Awards

Ugandan musicians are in celebratory mode after most of them received nominations for the 2020 African Entertainment Awards, USA (AEAUSA).

Despite the challenges that came with 2020, Ugandan music has been able to get international recognition as can be seen from the nominations.

Over 20 Ugandans were nominated in various categories for the award gala scheduled for later this year.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with NBS TV, Veteran Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo took credit for the massive nominations, stating that most artistes got the nod this year since he brought the award founder to Uganda after winning in 2019.

"I'm so proud that they included many Ugandans in these awards because I brought him here after winning the award. I told him to come and witness the massive talent we have down here.We hosted him here, made him visit our hotels, TVs, clubs and he picked interest in our country and went back with a collection of our music and started following our artistes. He was very happy with our artists.

"I pray we also keep on receiving nominations of this kind as many times as possible," Eddy Kenzo said.

The Big Talent boss has been nominated for Best Male Artist, Entertainer of the Year, Best Male Artist – East/South/North Africa and for the Song of the Year (Tweyagale).
