Mariah Carey is making sure that her fans are well occupied this month; she just released her new book, ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey’ and has also released a new album, ‘The Rarities’.
‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey’ is Mariah’s memoir. She has been doing media rounds about the book and she has revealed about what to expect in the book. She is being vulnerable about her growing up, her life in the industry and even her family. It will be her debut book and it is now available everywhere.
‘The rarities’ is Mariah giving her fans an album without any new music but with new music and this is why. This new album is divided into 4; live/raw recordings, re-works, the B-sides and the unreleased.
Mariah Carey has traversed through decades with 28 top 10 singles and 6 number 1 albums so inevitably, many singles did not make the cut to many of these classic albums; the unreleased. Therefore Mariah is giving us a peek into what would have appeared in her albums but was cut off. Some were songs from her demo tapes and others that just didn’t cut it.
The B-Sides are the ‘could have been’ songs instead of what we originally heard on the albums. Mariah gives her fans what some of her classics could have sounded like had they been released as is.
There are songs that are credited to 2020 on the album and these are the singles that Mariah took time to re-work on. They sound very refreshing and very new to the ear.
Mariah Carey took the last half of this 17 track album to share raw recordings of her in studio and live from Japan’s Tokyo Dome. We all like Mariah live because she serves all the hearty vocals and it is amazing to watch all that excellence unfiltered.
Mariah Carey is definitely making the most of this last quarter of the year. Get ‘The Rarities’ on your preferred streaming site and catch a vibe.
