Staying true to yourself as an artist!

When we were growing up as children most of us were told to stay true to who we are and always be ourselves, mostly in our teenage years because this is the period where most of us go through various transformations. It tends to get very confusing but how you overcome in the end has always been discovering who you are and what you stand for and staying true to oneself.

Now let’s apply this statement to your musical career; as an artist you become an individual trying to push out your music for it to get into the lime light and pave way for you to become identifiable and popular amongst people. So as a musician what can we identify you for, what do you bring on the table that makes us addicted and keep wanting for more?

A point to note is that no one likes wannabes, and I think this is one major mistake that needs to be rectified in the industry.
It is very evident that most musicians when starting out want to sing exactly like their favorites, best shown by the popular music talent shows aired on TV, but for you to succeed you have to know that you can never ever be someone else. You need to give your fans 100 percent of who you are and undoubtedly the reception will be worthwhile.

You also need to work hard to achieve your goals, you can never fake success. If as an artist you don’t believe in your abilities and music how do you expect your fans to accept it?

When you work hard to achieve you will never fail, so keep staying true to yourself and eventually success will come up to your doorstep.
