Eddy Kenzo Sets another Ugandan Record after Appearing in Times Square, New York

Ugandan artiste Eddy Kenzo is in high spirits after he marked yet another milestone in his skyrocketing music career.

The newly appointed Uganda Tourism Board ambassador has marked his latest achievement as the first Ugandan to appear on a billboard at the famous Times Square in New York City.

Last week, Eddy Kenzo announced that he was releasing a song featuring Monique Seka; the legendary queen of Afro-zouk music hailing from Ivory Coast.

The yet to be released jam is titled 'Missounwa' remix and what made it more exciting was the announcement made on the prestigious billboard.

“Pass by the New York time square in the US, you will see your boy Eddy Kenzo in partnership with prime music partner getting ready to release an African classic we all grew up enjoying titled Missounwa redone with Mama Monique Seka. The first Ugandan Musician to appear on the New York Time square billboard. Let the music speak,” Eddy Kenzo posted on his social media handles.

'Missounwa' is one of Monique Seka’s biggest songs of all time. The album dropped in 1989 and Eddy Kenzo jumping on the remix is a very big deal in his career.

Kenzo has been hitting milestone after milestone with his music doing the talking.

Early this year he became the first Ugandan to have a million subscribers on YouTube. He is also the first Ugandan to win a BET award.
