MTV EMA Awards: The Race For This Year's EMA Is On And Sauti Sol Need your Help!!

Every year, the race for the Worldwide Act for European Music Awards(EMA) gets bigger and more exciting. This year MTV fans have been given the power to choose who sits on the top of the African Music pyramid with two of East Africa’s finest, Diamond and Sauti Sol in the line up of possible victors.

Tanzania’s ‘Number 1’ singer Diamond, is in the list of confirmed nominees for Best African Acts, while Kenya’s male band, ‘Nishike’ hit makers Sauti Sol are fighting for the fifth slot in ‘Wild Card’ nominations.

In dozens of regions from all over the globe, artists will vie for local EMA awards, the first step on the road to winning the Worldwide Act EMA. MTV have announced 4 of the 5 nominees for your local award. This is where the magic happens: from the 9th to the 14^th of September, YOU the fan, will determine the 5^th simply through your twitter interaction! 

Using selected hashtags, you’ll let MTV EMA  know which artist should have a shot at being named Best African Act and maybe go on to eventually win the Worldwide Act EMA! The artist with the most hashtag mentions will become the 5th nominee in the category.
