Award winning artiste Kuami Eugene has always attributed hi success in his music career to his mum for always being supportive. Nonetheless, he recently disclosed that the church has also been supportive in his work, despite him being a secular musician.

Speaking during an interview on on Hitz FM, the ‘Open Gate’ hitmaker, said that most of his friends and fans are church goers. He also added he is good friends with most gospel artistes, who have always welcomed him into their concerts.

“The numbers started from Adom Praiz and after that worship people got time to listen to my songs. The church really supports me,” He said.

He further added that he highly believes that he was able to win the Artiste of the Year award at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), because of the support and love given to him by his fans in the gospel fraternity. The ‘Wish Me Well’ hitmaker went on to say that the love and welcoming attitude that he gets from the gospel fraternity is the reason behind him doing music that Christians can relate with.

“I was in church last week and the reception was amazing. When I was shooting for a song last week, most people stayed after church to shoot with me because they were excited Kuami Eugene was with them.”
