Early this month, Ragga artiste Ziza Bafana was arrested in Tanzania for reportedly disobeying government directives and holding a concert during the lock down.

The 'Katonda Wa Ragga' hit maker was reportedly roughed up together with the show's promoters after his concert at Happiness Motel in Mutukula on 30th August, 2020.

The Tanzania police handed the artiste and his group over to Uganda police after which they were questioned, tested for COVID-19 and put in quarantine.

Having completed their 14 days in quarantine, the 'Byagana' hit maker has been transferred to Kyotera Police Station upon discharge by Mutukula Migration Health Assessment Center.

In an Instagram post after his transfer, Ziza Bafana claimed that his arrest was political rather than musical.

He says he was only taken into custody for chanting the popular 'People Power' slogan during the concert.

"Dear friends and family, I take this opportunity to inform you that my team and I have been arrested over talking about people power and people who support MR KYAGULANYI SSENTAMU after completing a 14 day quarantine which was yesterday and the Doctors acknowledged that we’re Covid19 negative and discharged us, then the Uganda police detained us at KALISIZO POLICE STATION After castodizing our property at KYOTERA police station fellow UGANDANS," he posted.

He later appealed to government to help out artistes in this period of lock down when they can't afford to step on stage.
