VDJ Jones Launches Bid for Nairobi Governorship

Celebrated Kenyan artiste VDJ Jones has declared his interest to content for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat come 2022.
In an Instagram post, VDJ Jones shared his campaign poster, with his rallying call being ‘There is Power in the Youth’.
According to information on the poster, VDJ Jones will be contesting for the seat as an independent candidate.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to announce my candidature for NAIROBI GOVERNOR come 2022!
It takes a youth to understand the frustrations of another youth. Nothing is impossible when u believe, let's do this!!!” he posted.

The Nairobi governorship is currently under Mike Mbuvi Sonko and VDJ hopes to unseat him in case he decides to defend his post in the next election.
VDJ is counting on the support of Nairobi Youth to help him win the top seat in the county.
He is widely known for his support for the youth especially gengetone artistes. He has worked with several artistes and groups including; Stivo Simple Boy, Mbogi Genje, Wakali Wao among others.
Nairobi governorship is a crucial position in the country as the one in charge overseas critical functions in the city which is the main gateway to other parts of the country and the continent at large.
