Last week, reports emerged indicating that Ragga artiste Ziza Bafana was arrested in Tanzania for allegedly violating government directives and holding a concert during the lock down.

The 'Katonda Wa Ragga' hit maker was reportedly roughed up together with the show's promoters after the event that took place at Happiness Motel in Mutukula.

Appearing on Spark TV, Ziza Bafana confirmed the reports, stating that he made this risky decision because he had to look for a way to get money, since shows were put on pause.

"Yes we were arrested. We made our way past the boarder to Tanzania in an unclear way because we had to look for ways to get money and fend for ourselves,” he said.

Ziza Bafana says the show was successful and people attended in huge numbers since things are back to normal in the Tanzanian town he visited.

He is, however seeking for help because Tanzanian police handed him and his team over to Uganda police who questioned them and subjected them to COVID-19 tests.

"We were put in quarantine, in a hotel and we have heavy expenditures and we are begging to be returned to Kampala in places which we can maintain because we are really struggling," he said.
