Iryn Namubiru Lands French Language Ambassadorial Role in Uganda

Award-winning veteran artiste Iryn Namubiru is in high spirits after being unveiled as one of the ambassadors of French Language in Uganda.

She was appointed alongside Suzan Kerunen; a world musician from the West Nile.

The event happened on the evening of Friday as the two artistes were appointed by the French Ambassador in Uganda, H.E Jules-Armand Aniambossou at the French Embassy in Kampala.

Iryn Namubiru and Suzan Kerunen are expected to promote the French language and culture in Uganda.

"Here with the French Ambassador today, I am very honoured and humbled to be one of the AMBASSADORS of the French Language in Uganda. I will play my role of promoting the French language and Culture to the best of my ability," Iryn Namubiru said.

Iryn Namubiru is no stranger to the French language promotion as she has performed at the World Music Day at The Fete De La Musique concert, organized by the French Embassy in Uganda together with Talent Africa Group.

Susan Kerunen's ability to speak French made her a favorite for this post. She is a multi-lingual who has recorded songs in different languages.

An online radio station called Bonjour Kampala was launched as Uganda’s first French speaking radio.
